CloseIf you're in need of a low-maintenance house plant that is tolerant of human error, consider the Variegated Snake Plant. Low light will slow or stunt this plant's growth, but it can handle it. If you miss a watering or two, no problem. Haven't transplanted your Striped Mother-in-Law's Tongue since you got it two years ago? No worries. About the only thing that will kill this tough nut off is too much water, so water thoroughly when the surface soil is bone dry, then leave it alone. That said, this variety of snake plant is striking with its horizontal bands of green, bordered by brilliant yellow. The only down side is that it is mildly toxic to animals and humans if ingested.
