CloseColeus is often considered a summer shade annual, but the Main Street series defies that classification, doing equally well in sun or shade. 'Beale Street' has deep red, velvety, scalloped leaves that show little fading or scorching. Growing about two feet tall, this variety is also a very late bloomer. 'Beale Street' coleus can traverse the garden from shady borders to sunny planters or hanging baskets, adding continuity to the summer display. Pro tip: pinching out the tips will keep this coleus more compact and removing flowers will prolong the life of the plant.
