One of our favorite trees for smaller yards or limited spaces, providing year-round interest, including pink blossoms on bare branches!
Available in store
CloseMany gardeners insist on evergreen trees for their yards and that means missing out on some fabulous deciduous trees. Eastern redbuds are one of our favorites, and are even approved as street trees for some cities in the Portland Metro area. 'Flame Thrower' is a spectacular variety with heart-shaped leaves varying in color from burgundy to yellow and orange then green, all at the same time. A bit smaller than some of its cousins, 'Flame Thrower' is a perfect size for smaller yards and limited spaces, growing 15 to 20 feet tall and 15 feet wide in 10 years' time. Bare may its branches be in fall and winter, but how delightful when pink buds line the branches in spring.
NOTE: This specimen sized tree is available for delivery in the Portland Metro area or pickup only.
