CloseSedges are grass-like, narrow-bladed plants that typically prefer some shade in the hottest part of the day and will tolerate dry soil, but thrive in wetter environments. Growers developed the 'EverColor' series of carex to suit more diverse growing conditions, and 'EverColor Eversheen' proves the point. This low growing sedge's leaves have a bright green-to-yellow center stripe, edged in dark green, giving it a fresh look even in the dead of winter. It tolerates sunny sites, but may need more water, especially if grown in container planters or hanging baskets. Only about a foot tall and wide at maturity, 'EverColor Eversheen' is a terrific in container planters, and works well in borders.
