'Jan Dekker' heather is prized for its downy gray foliage and lavender-to-mauve flowers from mid-summer into the fall. This variety of calluna stays fairly small, about a foot tall and wide, and does well in sunny borders, container planters, hanging baskets, and en masse on hillsides. Deer-resistant and a lower-maintenance plant, this calluna takes its time to reach full size, but will be worth the wait.
