This Hardy Orchid, aka Chinese Ground Orchid, is in fact not an orchid at all, but the elegant white flowers could certain pass for one. Soft, strap-like leaves emerge from a pseudo-bulb in the spring, with clusters of orchid-like flowers appearing on even taller stalks. While this hardy orchid can handle some sun, it prefers afternoon shade or filtered sun, and must be watered regularly for best performance. This would be great in container planters or in borders where passersby could appreciate the delicate blooms.
