Descriptions range from a "velvety purple" to "deep maroon" but all agree this barberry is a standout from spring until fall.

Close'Concorde' Japanese Barberry may be deciduous, but it puts on a show for three seasons of the year. Small and rounded, 'Concorde's leaves emerge a deep purple in the spring, maintaining their color through the summer. When the temps drop, leaves turn a brilliant red, and any spring flowers (usually inconspicuous) may form red berries that hang on through the winter. A great companion plant for containers, hanging baskets, and borders, 'Concorde' can also be used as a low-growing seasonal hedge.
