CloseSo many shade plants tend to be perennials, dying back in the winter and emerging in the spring, so it's always refreshing to find an evergreen ground cover like Beesia. Heart-shaped leaves range in color from a gun-metal blue to deep green, providing an interesting contrast to the white flower stalks that emerge in the spring. Not the fastest-growing ground cover, Beesia reaches about 12" to 18" in height and up to two feet in width. It does well under deciduous trees where it will benefit from shade in the summer, but get full sun in the fall and winter. As a slow grower, Beesia also adapts nicely to container planters, partnering with other shade-loving plants.
