If the name, 'Godzilla' doesn't capture your attention, this deciduous fern's exotic arching fronds certainly will. Emerging a deep purple color in the spring, the fronds unfold into a silvery gray, eventually reaching three feet in height. Even though it dies back each winter, this Giant Japanese Painted Fern can spread up to six feet at maturity. Those silvery tones will pop in the shade garden.
