CloseThough sometimes suggested as an alternative to phormiums, Astelia 'Silver Shadow' has a softer, lower profile, with arching silver leaves. More tolerant of shade than phormiums, 'Silver Shadow' will brighten up partially shaded areas of the garden and works well in dry shade. Smaller plants work well in container planters and can be transplanted to the garden as it matures.
