Not much information is available on the internet regarding this somewhat rare but exceedingly attractive houseplant. Arthrostemma parvifolium has beautiful red stems with lance-shaped leaves that are deep green on top and a purplish red underneath. We've seen single-petaled pink flowers bloom in the summer when growing outside, but don't know if it will bloom when grown as a year-round houseplant. Honestly, the foliage is so beautiful, flowers would just be a bonus on this compact mini-shrub. Some sources say Arthrostemma parvifolium stays around eight to 12 inches tall, while others indicate it could reach 18 inches in height under ideal conditions. Though this plant may enjoy our Pacific NW summers, best to grow it in dappled sun when outdoors and provide a well-lit room when grown as a houseplant.
