CloseIt's hard to believe that this alocasia can grow to be so huge, but 'Mayan Mask' Elephant Ear can reach eight feet in height and over four feet in width, given the right growing conditions. Grown as a houseplant, this variety may take a while to reach such lofty heights, and may stay around two to three feet tall. Give it lots of indirect light, water thoroughly when the top inch of soil is dry, and keep away from heater vents. Alocasias prefer higher humidity, so place this specimen's pot on a pebble-filled saucer, half filled with water, mist daily, or invest in an electric humidifier. 'Mayan Mask' will be happy in a shady garden spot during the summer, but it needs to come indoors when the temps drop below 60 degrees. As is true of all Elephant Ears, this plant is NOT pet-friendly.
