CloseBowles periwinkle is a workhorse of a ground cover, thriving in sun to partial shade, excellent for erosion control on hillsides and retaining walls, or as an always green trailer in hanging baskets and container planters. Periwinkle blue flowers start in the spring and continue into the summer, then appear intermittently into the fall and even winter. Periwinkle makes short work of covering large areas, and is drought tolerant once established.
