CloseGardening has long been known to help humans relax and de-stress; however, some people may find it to be a new source of anxiety, seeking perfection when in reality, it is often messy. Thank goodness for summer annuals with fun names such as 'Wicked Blue' Verbena and its half-and-half approach to purple and white flowers. Trailing lavishly along stems that can reach up to two feet long, 'Wicked Blue' flowers combine little pops of color against bright white flower clusters, blooming steadily from late spring right up to fall. Although a sun-lover, this verbena needs regular watering and fertilizing for best results. A light trim in mid-summer will tidy up scraggly ends and encourage more blooms.
