A semi-determinate, purple-red roma-type tomato developed at Oregon State University, loaded with health-promoting anthocyanins!
Available in store
CloseMany of the early-maturing tomatoes that we sell in the nursery were developed at Oregon State University. The newest addition to its breeding program is 'Midnight Roma,' a dark purple-red skinned, roma-type tomato that matures around 80 days, and can be used as a paste tomato as well as a slicer. Developed specifically to increase the amount of anthocyanins (same as what is in red wine and blueberries), one should consume the skins to get the maximum health benefits. 'Midnight Roma' is semi-determinate, meaning it may need some support, and will produce the darkest skinned fruits when grown in full sun.
