The classic thyme used in cooking and a wonderful pollinator magnet for the home garden, edible or otherwise!
Available in store
CloseHerbs are a great addition to any home garden and some are surprisingly simple to grow. 'Narrow Leaf French' thyme, the classic culinary variety, can handle poor soil as long as it drains well, becomes drought tolerant once established, and attracts pollinators when its tiny pink flowers emerge in the spring. Home cooks can trim off stems as needed and this actually helps keep the plant from getting leggy. Giving the entire plant a light shearing after it blooms also keeps the plant compact and tidy. Growing to about a foot tall and a bit wider, 'Narrow Leaf French' thyme will take to container planters or hanging baskets as well. What could be more convenient than having a pot of thyme right outside your kitchen door?
