CloseSeasoned gardeners think "shade annual" when someone mentions impatiens, and normally, that is absolutely correct. New Guinea impatiens is a whole different story, and it's not called Sunpatiens for nothing. Happy in sun or partial sun, Sunpatiens can achieve a big presence - one to almost three feet tall, and up to two feet wide - sporting brilliant colored flowers from spring right up to frost. 'Tropical Rose' ups the ante with variegated leaves that add even more color to hanging baskets, container planters, and when planted en masse along borders in the garden. Water and fertilize regularly throughout the growing season for stellar results.
