CloseFor those seeking an unusual trailer for their summer hanging baskets or container planters, consider St. Augustine grass. Blunt-tipped blades of green with broad bands of white down the center will creep over the edge of containers, with a look reminiscent of indoor spider plants. Growing only four to six inches tall, St. Augustine grass can trail up to 18 inches over the course of the summer. Though evergreen in warmer climates, we treat this grass as an annual here in the Pacific NW.
