If you want an easy-to-care-for planter, consider a succulent pot or basket. There are so many different varieties of hens and chicks, you can create a planter with just those plants alone. Use 'Kalinda' with its beautifully symmetrical rosettes as a main feature, and add other succulents, including sedums or crassulas for added height or as trailers. Hens and chicks can come indoors to grow with the more cold sensitive succulents, or they can stay outside, taking front stage in the winter when the perennial sedums die down.
