We've had Golden Japanese Stonecrop growing in several pots around the nursery over the past few years and it's amazing how such a tiny-leafed specimen can have such a huge presence. Oddly enough, the golden color is more pronounced if it gets a bit of shade in the hottest part of the day, but is otherwise drought-tolerant once established. Bees are attracted by the summer blooms, deer don't usually bother it, nor do rabbits. Though only two inches tall, Ogon Sedum can spread from one to two feet, and is gorgeous trailing off the side of container planters or hanging baskets.
