Salvia 'Purple and Bloom' is a true rock star when it comes to attracting those beloved hummingbirds. This perennial variety grows quickly to four to five feet tall and about half as wide, so give it room. Blooms start appearing in late spring then just keep on coming into the fall. No wonder the bees and hummingbirds love it, as do we gardeners. Cut back to a few inches above the soil line in late winter, before new growth emerges. Purple and Bloom Salvia just gets prettier each year.
