CloseWith all our summer baskets in full bloom at the nursery, the hummingbirds are permanent residents, often buzzing visitors as they walk through "their" territory. A clear favorite of our feathered racers, however, are any of the salvias. Wood Sage 'May Night' is a fast-growing perennial with glorious purple flower stalks, sometimes standing over two feet tall, and are excellent cut flowers. Drought tolerant once established, this salvia works well in rock gardens, borders, or container planters, and attracts bees and butterflies, but not deer. Shear this perennial a bit after blooming to keep the plant compact and tidy.
