Product Description
Stonecrop/sedums are often the go-to answer for those with rocky, dry soil, and there is a wide-ranging selection based on size and color. 'Touchdown Teak' is one of the darkest varieties around, with reddish-brown, fleshy leaves on deep-red, erect stems that stand about 18 inches tall and wide. Full sun and well-draining soil will ensure the most upright profile, so consider planting this unique specimen in container planters if the garden soil doesn't drain well, especially in winter. Broccoli-like clusters of red flowers will emerge in late summer and continue on into the fall, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Though the plant will die back at freeze, the remaining stalks and flower heads will provide winter interest.
