Salvia 'Rockin Blue Suede Shoes'

Whenever visitors to the nursery ask about hummingbird attractors, we immediately show them all the perennial and annual salvias we carry. 'Rockin Blue Suede Shoes' salvia is a fast-growing annual, topping out around three feet tall and almost as wide, with a profusion of blue tubular flowers on black calyxes, from spring right up to freeze. Use it as the main attraction in container planters, the middle of borders, or as a mass summer planting. Its slightly fragrant leaves seem to be a deer-deterrent and will look its best in a sunny location with regular watering. Consider planting 'Rockin Blue Suede Shoes' near the vegetable garden to attract pollinators or as a spot of color in herb gardens.
