Hydrangea macrophylla Tuxedo® 'Black Tie'

It's difficult to describe the foliage color of Tuxedo® 'Black Tie' hydrangea because it's not all green, not all purple-black, and it will vary based upon the environment. Many of the leaves seem to have absorbed dark ink, bleeding into green. What this creates is an amazing contrast to the red mophead blooms that start in the summer and keep going into the fall. This specimen is perfect for smaller garden spaces and container planters, topping out around three feet tall and wide. Flowers appear on old and new wood, so don't hesitate to cut fresh flowers to be enjoyed indoors.
