Coneflowers have long been a mainstay of xeriscapes, rock gardens, and those ultra-sunny spots with less than ideal soil. PowWow® 'Wild Berry' adds a powerful punch of color with large pinkish-purple flowers covering the plant's multi-branched stems. No need to deadhead spent blooms in order to encourage additional flowers, but gardeners may prefer to do so for a tidier look. Goldfinches and other birds will snack on the seed heads if the last of the season blooms are left on in the fall. Drought- and heat-tolerant, and usually deer-resistant, echinaceas are a reliable addition to any sunny garden, returning year after year.
