Bean Bush 'Tavera' Seed Pack

Bush beans are one of those deeply satisfying veggies to plant straight into the garden, once the soil warms up. Seeds are large enough to plant at the correct distance, no need to thin, and once the plant emerges, is usually tidy and compact. 'Tavera Filet' produces the classic French haricot verts snap beans, pencil-thin and up to five inches long. Pick these often and when young for best flavor and good production. When harvesting green beans, hold the stem with one hand, and the pod with the other hand to avoid pulling off branches, which will continue to produce.

When to Harvest: Snap beans are ready to pick when the pod "snaps" or breaks in half cleanly. This is when the seeds have just begun to form and the pods are several inches long (depending on the variety).
