Armeria maritima 'Alba'

Sea Thrift is so named because it acclimates well to coastal environments. Happier in less fertile, well-draining soil, it adapts well to hanging baskets and container planters, sending up cute globe-shaped flowers from spring into summer. 'Alba' has white blooms that stand about six inches tall and are great cut flowers, fresh or dried. Picking flowers and deadheading the spent ones will encourage even more blossoms. The grassy foliage is evergreen, forming dense mounds less than a foot wide and about three inches tall, adding textural interest to the front edge of borders, hanging baskets, and container planters.
