A massive shrub in its native habitat, 'Red Stem' adds color and textural interest to indoor garden planters on a much smaller scale.
Available in store
CloseIn Africa, this red-stemmed succulent grows into huge bushes that elephants munch on, thus the common name of 'Elephant Bush.' For indoor gardeners, 'Red Stem' is an easily grown, easily shaped addition to container planters for height and as a filler/spiller. The key is to give this jade-like plant lots of light - south or west-facing exposures are best - and deep but infrequent watering. This tender succulent goes dormant in the winter, so be even stingier with water during that time.
