CloseAlthough its common name is Cape Fuchsia, this hardy perennial is native to South Africa and grows best in sun to partial sun. The dark green foliage forms an upright mound growing two feet tall and wide, providing the perfect backdrop for clusters of wine red ftuchsia-like tubular flowers. The base of the plant becomes woody as it ages, and should be cut back to about six inches in late winter or early spring to maintain a compact shape.
