Silvery gray-green leaves develop a distinctive sword shape as they mature. This one is a climber so provide support or let it trail.

CloseMany philodendrons are climbers by nature, and 'Silver Sword' philodendron is no exception. Some sources say that this silvery-green beauty can eventually reach eight to nine feet tall, given adequate support, light, and deep but infrequent watering. Philodendrons don't go straight up, so bendable moss poles may work best (we have three different sizes in the nursery!). As an alternative, plant 'Silver Sword' in a hanging basket and let it trail. Whether you let this specimen grow up or down, pinching out the stems will encourage new growth from the base, making a bushier plant.
