Many people turn their noses up at houseplants because they don't produce any blooms, but what some lack in flowers make up for it with their foliage color. Case in point, Philodendron 'Malay Gold' has spectacular chartreuse yellow leaves that will light up any room. Initially, it appears to be an upright clump of greenery; however, given time, it could grow up to six feet tall. Philodendrons do best in well-lit rooms (no direct sun, please!), with deep but infrequent watering and well-draining soil. Pets will not be happy if they chew on Malay Gold's leaves, so place this beauty where it will be out of harm's way.
