This curly leafed parsley grows so densely, it does indeed look like a mound of moss. Milder than flat Italian parsley, best used fresh.

CloseWhile Italian parsley is frequently the parsley of choice due to its more robust flavor, curly parsley does have a place in the cook's garden. 'Triple Moss' curled parsley is especially attractive, its dark green leaves forming a dense mound about a foot tall, and of course, works well as a garnish. Its muted flavor may be appropriate in egg salad or chicken salad sandwiches, and parsley is a good source of vitamins A, K, and C. Curly parsley is an easy-to-grow summer green, given lots of sun and well-draining soil. Perfect in pots, it can be harvested as needed, but leave at least a third of the plant so it can regrow. As a biennial, parsley has the best flavor in its first year of growth, so we treat it as an annual.
