With the barest hint of a white edge encasing the narrow, strappy black leaves, Edge of Night Mondo Grass is in a class of its own.

CloseAt first glance, 'Edge of Night' seems like any other black mondo grass. Look closely though, and you'll see that each narrow blade has the thinnest edge of ivory, almost a pinstripe effect. Six to ten inches tall and eventually spreading to a foot wide, 'Edge of Night' adds a dramatic flair to container planters, hanging baskets, borders or mass plantings in sun or all-day dappled shade. Mondo grass will become drought tolerant once established in the ground, and is allegedly rabbit- and deer-resistant. Lavender flowers appear in the summer and eventually turn into black berries, adding another layer of texture and interest.
