CloseThe name, 'Variegated Simpson's Stopper' provides little clues as to the nature of this Florida native. A member of the myrtle family, it is a rounded, three foot tall and wide shrub with small leaves in varying shades of pink, green, and white, and smell of nutmeg when crushed. Though classified as an evergreen, this specimen will benefit from added protection during our Pacific NW winters, thus making it a good candidate for a container planter that can be moved to a sheltered spot. Drought-tolerant once established, 'Variegated Simpson's Stopper' does best in full sun, though it can tolerate some shade.
