CloseCreeping Jenny is a favorite go-to trailer for all our hanging baskets and container planters. Gardeners often opt for the gold or dark green varieties, but many are unaware of 'Midnight Sun,' with its intriguing matte-chocolate/dark green foliage. Though it does prefer some shade during the hottest time of the day, this Creeping Jenny, also known as Chocolate Moneywort, can handle sunny locations as well as all-day dappled shade. The foliage is almost velvety looking and when the weather warms up, the yellow flowers characteristic of Creeping Jenny start popping out. As is true of most shade tolerant plants, 'Midnight Sun' will produce more blooms if it has partial sun or all-day dappled sun, but even without the blooms, this trailer is truly eye-catching. For the record, lysimachias tend to be semi-evergreen in the Pacific NW, but will usually brown out and die back in a hard freeze, only to come springing back to life once the weather warms.
