Close'Lemon Beauty' Box Honeysuckle is a somewhat surprising plant. Yes it is related to the flowering honeysuckle vines that can take over a trellis in record time, but it is a much more manageable evergreen shrub, growing anywhere from three to six feet tall and wide. When grown in a sunny location, the yellow coloring of the small leaves becomes more pronounced, making the dark green interior stand out. In shadier settings and in the darker days of fall and winter, the green becomes more prominent. Young plants tend to send out arching, almost horizontal branches. As 'Lemon Beauty' ages, the entire plant gains height. Its small leaves and dense growth make it amenable to shaping. And sadly, this honeysuckle does not produce the flowers we associate with honeysuckle vines; its glory is in its beautiful foliage.
