Summertime flowers offer a dazzling array of colors, textures, and sizes, and we love all those intense warm colors. White brings out the best in all those richly colored blooms, and we also appreciate white-on-white hanging baskets and container planters, providing a simple elegance and a rest for  sun-blasted eyes. Lobelia 'Laguna White' is a sure bet for such arrangements, filling and spilling out of hanging baskets with those dainty yet plentiful flowers starting in late spring and keeping on right up until freeze. Lacy foliage can mound up to 12 inches tall before trailing one to two feet over the edges of baskets. More sun means more flowers, although 'Laguna White' performs well in partial sun. A light shearing in late summer will tidy up this variety and encourage another round of flowers.
