CloseRainbow Drooping Leucothoe (loo-KOTH-o-ee) is an unusual shade-loving evergreen shrub with gracefully arching stems that could eventually reach three to five feet in height and spread if given free rein. Four-inch long lance shaped leaves range in color from mottled green to cream and pink/burgundy in the fall and winter. Drooping racemes of white bell-shaped flowers emerge in the spring, and are often valued for cut flower arrangements. Rainbow Drooping Leucothoe is a slow grower, making it a great choice for container planters and hanging baskets, and can be pruned to keep a lower profile.
