This frost-tolerant butterhead lettuce is the perfect size for growing in a hanging basket or container right outside your kitchen door.
Available in store
Close'Buttercrunch' is a compact, loose butterhead-type lettuce with large, slightly puckered leaves, and is the perfect size for container planters or in garden borders. Pull off individual outer leaves but leave the rest to continue growing, or cut off the entire head about 2" above ground level and let it regrow. This is a vigorous grower, preferring a bit of shade from the hot afternoon sun. Be sure to water regularly and watch for slugs.
