CloseSpanish lavenders tend to stop blooming once the heat of summer arrives, and that's what makes 'Primavera' Spanish Lavender such a winner. This evergreen has a fairly compact upright profile, growing to about 18 inches tall and wide, with lavender-scented foliage. The deep-purple and burgundy flowers begin in the spring and keep going throughout the summer, attracting bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. As is true of all lavenders, 'Primavera' thrives in the sun and well-draining soil, and needs to be watered regularly until established in the ground. At that point, it can withstand dry spells as well as deer and rabbits. 'Primavera' lavender is eye-catching in large container planters, in borders, and may even be used as informal low hedges.
