One of the few junipers to maintain its bright yellow foliage throughout the year, adding a pop of color in the dark days of winter.

CloseWhen constructing planters, many gardeners tend to overlook junipers in favor of "prettier" specimens. Please reconsider, especially when building a year-round basket, as many of our favorite evergreens are golden junipers. 'Golden Joy' juniper will grow larger than other similar varieties, topping out around three feet tall and six feet wide at maturity, but its slow growth and bright yellow foliage make it a beautiful addition to container planters and hanging baskets. Its needles add a wonderful texture as well, contrasting nicely with other winter-hardy evergreens. Drought tolerant once established in the ground and deer-resistant, 'Golden Joy' juniper is an excellent addition to xeriscapes, hillsides, and retaining walls.
