CloseWhen looking for gold colored foliage for the sunny garden, don't overlook the juniper family. 'Gold Strike' Creeping Juniper is a stunning, low-growing evergreen specimen with brilliant golden yellow tones in the spring and summer that contrast nicely against pale green interior needles. Colder temps bring out coral hues in the fall and winter, adding interest to an otherwise dreary time of year. 'Gold Strike' stays low to the ground, about six inches in height, but can eventually spread to four feet wide at the 10-year mark. A slow grower, this juniper makes an eye-catching addition to container planters, retaining walls, and hanging baskets, and is an excellent bonsai subject. If you're patient, 'Gold Strike' juniper is a good choice for hillsides as well.
