More sun means more blooms, but this year-round ground cover can handle some shade. Light shearing may promote a second bloom.

ClosePart of Candytuft's botanical name, "sempervirens," translates roughly to always living, and this reliable low-growing perennial is indeed green year-round. Like most Candytufts, 'Snow Cone' blooms best in full sun, but will do well in partial shade. It's a great choice for rock gardens, hillsides, or areas that lean toward the dry side, and is an attractive addition to container planters or hanging baskets as well. Give it a light hair cut after blooming to keep the plant tidy looking, and you may get a second bloom.
