'Patriot' hosta is a much appreciated plantain lily, and has been deemed a favorite both here in the U.S. and in Britain. A bit more heat tolerant than many other hostas, 'Patriot' will add a splash of color to shade gardens and areas with all-day dappled sun. Lilac flower stalks will rise above the two-foot mound of variegated foliage in the summer, attracting bees and hummingbirds. Remove spent flowers to aid the growth of new leaves.
