CloseKrossa Regal hosta, aka plantain lily, is a stunning addition to shade gardens with silvery blue-gray foliage standing up to three feet tall. Its leaves are quite thick and upright, thus escaping the damage commonly done to hostas by hungry slugs. Lilac blooms (that may be fragrant) rise high above the foliage in the summer, attracting hummingbirds and bees. Clumps can range from four to six feet wide, and may be divided in the late fall or early spring, before new growth emerges.
