This hosta will practically glow in gardens with even the deepest shade. Excellent choice for container planters as well.

CloseHostas are one of our favorite shade garden choices, due in part to the range of colors, textures, and sizes available. As an example, 'Mouse Ears' is barely eight inches tall and dusty blue-green, while 'Fire Island' is a glow-in-the dark neon yellow, growing to just over a foot tall but about 24 inches wide. To add to 'Fire Island's' good looks, slightly puckered leaves grow on reddish stems, and lavender flower spikes emerge in the summer. Hummingbirds love the flowers and unfortunately, slugs tend to enjoy snacking on the leaves. 'Fire Island' is a nice size for container planters and hanging baskets, which would help deter slugs.
