We were star-struck by 'Starry Starry Night' hibiscus' giant pink blooms, and 'Midnight Marvel' hibiscus is no less jaw-dropping with its dark purplish leaves and scarlet flowers. Growing up to four feet tall and wide, this perennial hibiscus deserves specimen status in a sunny garden, though it can be grown in large container planters. Flowers emerge in mid-summer right up until fall. The foliage dies back in the fall, but once the weather warms, it will return in the late spring.
