'Rio' Coral Bells is one of those "sleepers" that are often overlooked in favor of the more intensely colored heucheras, but it's an absolute beauty in fall/winter baskets with its distinct venation and multiple colors ranging from peach to amber, to tan, and yellow. A fairly compact variety, 'Rio' is less than a foot tall but over a foot wide, and performs well in container planters, hanging baskets, borders, and mass plantings. White flowers on maroon stems appear from late spring into the fall, attracting bees and hummingbirds, and charming gardeners. This particular variety can handle full sun or partial shade, and is versatile enough to work with sunny annuals or shade loving perennials.
