CloseAs eye-catching as the red varieties of coral bells may be, consider adding a yellow-toned version such as 'Northern Exposure Amber' to your garden. Truly amber in color, the rounded leaves form a striking mound of color in the shade or sun that will last year-round. Its more compact size - about a foot tall and up to 20 inches wide - makes it an excellent addition to container planters, hanging baskets, or narrow borders in the garden. Greenish yellow flowers appear in late spring, attracting bees and hummingbirds. Although purportedly deer-resistant, heucheras are one of those garden staples that may fall victim to deer if they're hungry enough.
